The Sterling Group was formed in 1992 and consolidated the ownership in a number of subsidiary companies. The first of those subsidiaries was formed in 1986.

Sterling Group provides management services including strategic planning, financial reporting, and administrative functions for the other Sterling companies. They have developed a unique business model that is applied to each. One of the developments from these efforts is a family of cleaning products that addresses the problems associated with graffiti applied to equipment, buildings, and other structures. These products used internally are available for any company confronted with similar problems.
